Two hand-drawn ink illustrations created on wooden panels as a personal commissioned gift. 

The project involved adapting the figures of the not very well-known icons of St Marcellus, a Roman soldier and martyr, as well as St Marianna of Kope/Molokaʻi, creating out of them two compositions through mirror-flipping and editing to create a balanced pair, while preserving the visual language of traditional iconography. 

Executed using ink hatching to achieve depth and texture, each illustration was complemented by a hand-applied gold-accented halo.
